Sickly Child.

I've been quite ill recently. I suffer from Anemia, so when I have the flu it effects me ten times over than it should. I've spent a lot of time in bed being ill, which basically means procrastinating even thought I should probably write my research assignment.

I've also spent my time dying my hair extensions. I had to get them from bleach blonde to grey/whiteish. I didnt really realise how hard this would be. I bleached them first then used Directions white toner, but they went lilac/purple. I was really annoyed as I want to be able to wear them on the weekend when I go to meet my Boyfriends family (scared). But after a couple of washes I finally got the right colour and here it is...

I really hope I feel better for the weekend. I'm so fed up of being ill and I'm pretty sure the Doctor is sick of seeing me every few weeks. On the plus side I have nice long white hair now!

Oh Naturale!

Recently I've been getting so fed up of wearing my hair extensions and of the mundane task of straightening my hair. When I was younger (before I started dying my hair) my hair was extremely curly, almost like an afro. I hated it with a passion and when I found straighteners I was over the moon!

This is an awful picture of me when I was about 17.
Anyway once I had the straighteners, thats when I started styling my hair differently and dying and bleaching it, and because I did this my hair seemed to lose its natural curly-ness.

Last week I was washing my hair and I thought I wonder what would happen if I left my hair to dry naturally with a little bit of leave-in conditioner on it. Now I never do this, I also blow dry and straighten my hair and clip in my hair extensions, but this is the result I got!

My hair is pretty wavy/curly and I'm really happy with it. I really don't like not wearing my hair extensions as I think my hair is short and un-feminene. But I think the wavy-ness of my hair makes a more 'girly' look. And it saves on time and effort!

I'm no artist.

This is a drawing of what I want my next tattoo to be. Its two Swallows with a ribbon running over them. I know it isn't a very good drawing as I'm not an artist (I got a B at GCSE) but you get the idea!

The one of the left is holding a Heart and in the Ribbon is the letters S & B which are my parents initials and the one of the right is holding a four leaf clover and in the Ribbon it says Peggy which is my late Nanna's name.

I cant wait to get the funds to get these done, I'm going to get them on my inner forearms. I may go into a tattoo parlour this week and see if I can get some sort of estimate on how much its going to cost me.

Slipknot's Clown confirms there will be a 5th Slipknot Album.

Slipknot's Shawn 'Clown' Crahan has confirmed there will be a 5th studio album by the Des moines mask band. Honestly, this excites me very much. Clown told Kerrang magazine that 'There are plans, but its a way off' Clown also told Kerrang that the album will be much more like Iowa. Which obviously makes me very excited as their last album 'All Hope is gone' did disappoint me in a way. I think it was not as aggressive as the knots previous albums, it did not feel as raw.

So the questions is how long will they leave us waiting? Slipknot are preforming at Australia's Soundwave festival next year (which I would give my soul away to go too) Will they announce a new album after that? We'll just have to wait and see!

At the end of the month the special edition of Iowa is released. Which I'm looking forward to rather much. Every body should pre oder their copy now!

My Make-up review.

This is a quick video I have made about make-up on a student budget. It isn't a very good quality video as it is my first EVER attempt. I talk about the make-up products I use on a regular bases, they are all available on the high street. I have to live strictly to a student budget and I was sick of seeing reviews on make-up products that cost £25. Hope you enjoy and I must apologies for my awful common accent!

What have you done now?

I'd been contemplating changing my hair colour for about 3 months, I was thinking about dying it pastel pink, but i thought no, I'll do something a little different. So i bought (a lot) of white toner, which infact is a purple colour. I started by trying Lariches Directions white toner, which is a pretty good product and if you do want to get rid of the yellow tones in your hair, its perfect. But if you want to get a sort of lilac grey colour you need to use it quite a few times. I also used Special Effects white toner which is a great product I left it on my hair for about an hour. When I washed it off I also used a purple shampoo(pro-voke touch of silver)

I was really impressed with the results. I must stress i wasn't looking for an outcome that made my hair totally purple. If i wanted that I would have used a purple hair dye. I just wanted a hint of lilac and thats what i got.

I also shaved part of the right side of my head above my ear. My mother wasn't to impressed when I showed her over Skype but I really like it and its only noticeable when i clip a piece of my hair up, which is good as that means when i want to grow it out no one can see.

Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair

Right now I should probably be doing some reading on 'popular genre's' or some other media related rubbish, but I'm not I here writing about my visit to a wonderful vintage fair. I've been having a pretty crappy weekend, so this afternoon I forced myself out of bed, threw clothes on and decided to venture out into a rather humid, cloudy York.
(Not that you can really tell) but I dyed my hair yesterday, its sort of grey/white/lilac. I want it more lilac though!

My 'thrown together' outfit.

Anyway, I knew there was a vintage fair on in the museum gardens so i thought I would wonder down and check it out. I was pleasantly surprised. I had to pay £1.50 to get in, but it was well worth it! There was everything you could think of, from vintage, retro and recycled. Bags, costume jewellery, fur coats. You name it, it was there. It was held in one of my favourite buildings in the museum gardens (I kinda want to get married there)

Yes, I did end up spending money. BUT, it wasn't to much and it was way cheaper then any high street shop. Like I said there where lots of choose from and I quickly scan the little stalls for items that caught my attention. I could have spent so much more than I did, but I reminded myself that I have to feed myself and pay the bills (how dull) So I choose what I bought very carefully. Sorry about the quality of the photos, I don't yet own a camera so they where either taken on my phone or on my Macbook webcam.

This ring cost £3. Its so cute and the peace symbol has little diamantes around it.

This is a real bad picture, but this shirt is amazing. It cost £5. It has shoulder pads and is made of a lovely silky material.

I also got this gorgeous velvet dress, I've been looking for something just like it everywhere! Its a lovely length finishing just above the knee. I love it , the only problem is it is slightly to big for me. I am going to attempt to take it in at either side to see if I can make it fit. or if I cant do it myself, I maybe tempted to take it to get altered. I love it that much!

I think I got some really awesome bargains. Judy's Affordable vintage fair travels all around the country to bring you the most amazing affordable clothing and accessories. You can check on facebook if there is one coming to a town near you.

Now unfortunately I couldn't stop myself there. I'm a typical girl and after looking round at all the vintage niceness I decided to head in to town. I saw that Republic had a sale on and had a peak. Know I'm not usually a fan of republic, I've bought the odd piece of clothing from there but to be honest I think it is slightly, how to put it inoffensively 'chavy.' Anyway to my surprise I found this darling Black blouse. Its officially my favourite thing I've bought in a long time.

I'm wearing it here with a black skirt but I think it will look fantastic with my fake leather leggings which I have not yet worn.

Luckily I didn't break the bank with buying any of this (I'm a student and currently jobless) I bought everything with the money I saved on food shopping! No this does not make me stupid, it makes me resourceful!  I also got these immensely gorgeous studded slip-on shoes from topshop (I bought them using my topshop card) I've wanted them for ages and I'll probably wear them until the souls fall off.

All in all I had a good day, and my class tomorrow morning isn't on so I get a lay-in! Unfortunately I have class at 5pm-7pm which sucks and it will bore me to tears but never mind! Who says being a student is difficult?

Scarborough to Leeds

Last weekend, (which started for us on the thursday) me and my boyfriend decided to make use of the gorgeous weather. So on the thursday we took a trip to Scarborough, we sat on the beach and ate fish and chips and he even managed to win me a cute Hello Kitty on those grabby machines!

Me in a dress! This is an unusual sight!

On the Friday we booked a Hotel and went off to leeds for some retail therapy, we had just got our loans so it gave us an excuse to spend a great deal of money. I bought some real nice things, and so did my boyfriend. It was extremely hot and I felt that i should have been buying swim wear not winter jumpers. So I compensated by buying two pairs of denim shorts, which are really quite perfect and for once fit me perfectly. I got one pair in a shop that I had never really paid attention too before, Zara. I was quite surprised at some of the stuff they had in, I always thought zara was all suits and blouses. But I was pleasantly surprised. As well as a pair of 'short' shorts, I got a cute tee.

There where also some nice (cheap) things in primark. I'm not the biggest fan of primark as i seem to get very annoyed at the state of the shop floor in every primark I've ever been in. There is always clothes everywhere and I can never fine my size, there always seems to be a lot of size 14 and 16 and no 8's.

I also got this gorgeous Black bag with skull studs from one of my favourite shops, Ark. Its a really good size meaning I can us it for everything, including uni.

And lastly my boyfriend got me this fake fur, lepard print jacket with a hood. As soon as I saw it I wanted it. I know I'm begging for bad weather so I can wear it!

I had a lovely weekend and I would definately recommend leeds for shooping. There is also loads of vintage shops which I enjoyed walking around, but by the time I had got to them I had spent up.

Slipknot - Iowa 10th Anniversary Edition

Can you believe Iowa is 10 years old? Thankfully the masked Des moines-based band's modern classic is being re-released in a 10th anniversary edition to celebrate.

The anniversary edition will included the original iowa album with added bonus track, My Plague (new abuse mix) A second disc, Disasterpieces - live in london 2002 and Goat, and hour long film capturing the pure insanity and destruction of Iowa, directed by Clown.

In my opinion Iowa is one of the greatest metal albums of all time, the is nothing out there like iowa, it is a truly angry, violent and menacing. It has the capability to scare the living shit out of you. You can feel how the band must have been feeling at the time of making this album, its dark and brutal.

Iowa will be released on the 31st of October, I believe it is a must buy for any fan of the knot, or for anyone who wants to here some really intense dark metal.
